Hey, I’m Hudson!

The creator and operator of Writer’s Hub.

For starters, welcome. Now, let me show you around…

What is Writer’s Hub?

Making a living doing something you love requires a delicate balance of passion, profit, and productivity.

So, I created Writer’s Hub to act as a community of like-minded humans all sharing one common goal: to make more money as a writer.

Each week, you’ll receive posts on:

  • Monetizing your words

  • Writing more effectively

  • Striking a healthier work-life balance

Free posts are sent out every week. To unlock Writer’s Hub’s full library of content, become a paid subscriber. 🔓

Writing can be a lonely endeavour. I say this, from personal experience.

For my first 5 years of writing online, I went at it alone. I didn’t network, reach out, or build connections with… well, anyone. Eventually, I began feeling frustrated with my lack of growth.

So, I sent emails to a handful of writers I respected.

Over the years, these relationships have blossomed into some of the best writing advice I’ve received. And, have helped me achieve numerous writing goals.

You are a social creature.

Even if you deem yourself a lone wolf, community is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal. And, connecting with like-minded humans is one of the best ways to smooth your learning curve.

Regardless of who you are, where you’re from, or your experience level, you have a home at Writer’s Hub.

A little about me.

Me, in my home office (surrounded by notoriously green walls).

I’ll keep this short (I promise).

In 2015, I was deeply unfulfilled despite living a seemingly perfect life.

I had family, friends, a good job, and a cool car. After closing on the purchase of my first home, I felt hollow.

I realized I had been living a lie.

In an attempt to conform to my surroundings, I lost sight of who I was. And, who I wanted to become. So, for the next 10 years, I embarked on a very cliche find-myself journey:

  • In 2016, I sold everything and moved to Thailand

  • In 2017, I read “The Artist’s Way” and began journalling

  • In 2018, I started freelance writing on Fiverr

  • In 2019, I quit freelancing to write on Medium

  • In 2020, I moved back home to Canada to focus on writing

  • In 2021, I continued writing alongside various day jobs

  • In 2022, I quit my latest day job to pursue writing full time

Since then, it’s been a process of trying, failing, and re-adjusting. Something I’ve learned will likely never stop.

My promise to you.

Everyone’s writing journey is different.

While I will never have all the answers, I inevitably have different answers than you. My hope is by sharing my experience, I can help expedite yours.

So, my commitment to you is this. I promise to always:

  • Show up

  • Share my knowledge

  • And, never sugarcoat it

Plus, use plenty of alliteration along the way.

As a smart and thoughtful human, you know there is no one-size-fits-all approach. So, why not try mine on to see if it fits?
