I agree that there is no perfect platform and you need to understand what works for you. But after trying countless content platforms for 14 years, I've come to a conclusion.
If a platform doesn't provide reliable organic reach, run.
Platforms change over the years. At some point they may make it very hard to grow an audience. Even if you do everything right. It happened to me on Mediums and X.
Hmmm, that's a great factor to consider. And, I agree. If you want to write on platforms with primarily direct search traffic, you need to pair it with one with a lot of organic traffic. 🙂🙌
That's a sobering point. I suppose we have to be consistently aware of other, new blogging platforms as they may be potential options for us, in case our current platforms aren't working out.
Totally. I've noticed all the big writers are constantly exploring new platforms. And, I think it's necessary to adapt with the ever-changing writing landscape. 🙂🙌
Wanting to get started on Newsbreak. Any direction or links that you may have for a beginner would be appreciated!
Also, I am going to return to publishing on Seeking Alpha, which is an investment writer’s platform. I think the site show articles averaging around $120 in earnings, although this is cumulative over several months typically. Still, worth mentioning, I think.
Thanks! And, very cool, I hadn't heard of Seeking Alpha. 🙏
As for Substack, my first piece of advice would be to start posting Notes. They're a really great way to learn what people are interested in and gain exposure. As for everything else, this video has everything I've learned thus far: https://youtu.be/Bmlu6OqedGE?si=Pue21yprbeExyJF_
As someone below the average age range here on Substack, I hope people my age start to find this place! I learn so much just by checking my notes every now and again.

Substack for now has much better organic reach.

Thank you!
FWIW: Seeking Alpha also has an affiliate program that I am learning more about. Might be worthwhile. I will report back on what I learn.
Thanks again for the great content, and also for building this very helpful community. Much appreciated and glad to be here! :-)
Yes! Please do. And, you're very welcome. It's great to have you here. 🙂🙌

IS the main traffic in LinkedIn Direct or not?
Oop, good catch! Organic search. ✅🙏
Yes, Linkedin "pulses" are strong in Google.
Very true. Especially for business and marketing related topics. 👏
