I want other rural family caregivers to know they aren’t alone, there are always options and a little preparation will go a long way in them feeling calm and confident while caring for their elders.
You've stumped me. I started writing on medium as a way to make a little money. And in the last year I've been on the platform I've indeed made a "little" money. I enjoy writing though. I'm disabled and homebound and I participate in a drabble community (write a 100 word story every day based on a prompt) and I find this to be a great creative exercise and I can take a break from it if I want to. Then I've begun to branch out into other types of writing. More personal lifestyle or writing articles because I have a degree in English and almost had my focus in creative writing I know a bit about writing. My newsletter I want to just be fun and about how I have use different productivity and motivational hacks to navigate my OCD and depression. It's hard enough to have a mental health disability but how do you set goals around them? that's what my newsletter is about. So I hope it helps others who face the issues I face and learn from my trial and error.
I can't take credit for 100 word drabbles. They have been around for a long time. If you decide to do it every day that's up to you. There are groups that do it every day you can join or you can start your own.
My goal in this season is to share insights and musings about my faith journey with God, talk about the nuances of relationships, share about the content creation journey, and also give the tea on what caregiving is really like.
I have just started in Medium after watching your youtube video. I am grateful for that there is a platform like this for me to start writing and learn from other experienced writers like yourself =)
My end goal is to hopefully by the end of it make some money and at the same time write impactful and meaningful articles to the world.
Hi Hudson, I have written an article to publish on medium. There are a few publications to whom I am waiting for them to reply if I can join as their writer. I think it will take a while for them to reply or vet through my draft. Do you think I should just go ahead and publish first since I just started writing? Or it is better to wait for their replies? Many thanks!
Long-term goal: Continue to build a community that enjoys my novels, supporting this community, and most importantly, continue to write the stories I want to tell.
I would like to build up my new publication "Generations Unfolded" to connect with my audience on a more personal level. My end goal is to be able to make a difference in other families lives by sharing my own personal experiences.
I write to express and share my experiences with my point of view about life, with a hope that my blogs or articles will surely be helpful to someone needy.
I'd like to write a blog to connect at a deeper level with my audience, and express myself in a different way with word, reflect on my experiences, share my reflections and thoughts with the world.
I am an African, and not just an African, a Nigerian, I so much desired to study Civil Law, but somehow, I am in my final year studying English and Literature, I have interned with as a content writer with a technology company (Padding Technology) or a year, partook in an xternship program with Beats by Dr. Dre, that was in second year.
I can not say exactly what I want write about at the moment, but one of the things that get to me are misconceptions, especially about Africa. I have read a number books and, with study emphasis on literature, I have seen that there are too many misconceptions and twisted conceptualisaion about Africa.
Like any other culture, African cultures have her own fair share of the good the bad and the ugly, I hope I can attempt to clear as much as possible on this, and I am new on medium also, I am just about to publish my about me story, although not my first article, there is a twist to the story, and my about me story attempts to explain that twist.
I hope to find my footing, build relationships, and something more being a Nigerian, and quite specific on Idnetifying as a Nigerian...

As a fellow caregiver, I love your mission.

Hello Mary,
Permission to copy your, "write a 100 words story everyday based on a prompt" idea 🙂...
I can't take credit for 100 word drabbles. They have been around for a long time. If you decide to do it every day that's up to you. There are groups that do it every day you can join or you can start your own.
I love this. All of it. ❤️
My goal in this season is to share insights and musings about my faith journey with God, talk about the nuances of relationships, share about the content creation journey, and also give the tea on what caregiving is really like.

Enjoy your break!
Thanks! And, that's great to hear. Always feel free to ask questions. 🙂🙌

I would start posting as you wait. Writing and procrastination go hand in hand. So, forward movement is always your best option. 💪
Thank you so much Hudson! Appreciate your advice and direction. 👏🙂
You're very welcome! 🙌
Make money and have fun.
Enjoy your time off!
Those are two great goals -- especially if they can work in tandem. 🙂👏
I've spent years writing and creating for brands, building their community, but I think it's time I build mine too with my voice, as me.
I love it! Let me know if there's any way I can support you. 🏆💪
Thanks, Hudson! I appreciate it—honestly, I wouldn’t even be on Substack if it weren't for you, so I already feel indebted to you!
Wow. Awesome! 🙂🙏
Short-term goal: Publish my first box-set.
Long-term goal: Continue to build a community that enjoys my novels, supporting this community, and most importantly, continue to write the stories I want to tell.
Awesome, awesome, and more awesome. 👏✅
